SO Charitable – Supporting RRT

SO Charitable

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) is a global charity, primarily providing help to local communities in time of need. If disaster strikes, such as flooding, fire, storms or major accidents, RRT will step in to help serve food and drinks to emergency services and people in need. RRT also offers a helping hand at homeless missions and provides assistance to support other charities and charitable events.

Their mission statement reads:
SERVING PEOPLE WITH CARE AND COMPASSION IN TIMES OF NEED.

Catherine at the SO Group is a regular RRT volunteer and on a variety of occasions she has also been joined by other members of the SO team to help at events supported by RRT, including the International World Rally Races where they undertook litter picking duties. In addition, Catherine has given her time to help out in emergency situations such as a large barn fire. Her support meant the 25 strong fire crew were served delicious hot soup to keep them warm and energised whilst fighting the blaze, on a cold November evening.

Why does Catherine support RRT? Catherine said “I like to connect with people in need. It’s the opportunity to make a difference, maybe only small, just a smile or a little act of kindness. It’s the joy, the satisfaction that comes from doing something for someone else. It’s the knowledge that you are supporting a noble cause.”

For every SO employee that gives their time to support the RRT, SO’s Managing Director, Bill Murray ensures his staff get paid for the time they are volunteering.
